Home Delivery

Historically we have witnessed machines emerge as effective “labour saving” mechanisms. In our hyper commercialized world, where tech giants are constantly pushing the boundaries for fast deliveries while simultaneously also killing small, craft and labour based businesses, will we see a future where labour is completely eliminated and almost anything and everything can be ordered online and delivered to our doorstep? Here’s imagining a news article of a scenario like that:

In the future where drones and AI have taken over most of the “labour” tasks, an E-commerce giant decided to disrupt the market by taking home delivery quite literally by using drones to deliver pre-fabricated, modular homes designed by AI directly to the buyer. Homeownership, an unthinkable reality due to skyrocketing prices of real estate and labour costs, is now a reality for many middle class families with availability of cheap ready-to-move-in homes. The development while being welcomed by many is also met with massive job losses and unemployment in the construction business.
